Theme Introduction

The theme of ige2005 is "The Award & Global Issues". It focuses on three main issues :

1. Alleviation of Poverty
2. Control of HIV/AIDS
3. Environmental Conservation


The above issues emphasize our concern towards the threatening problems of our world, as well as raising the youth's awareness of helping to solve these problems. To achieve our aim, a series of programmes are carefully designed to provide a chance for young people to adequately learn about the challenges the modern world is facing. Consequently, our participants can come up with ideas of how themselves, as individuals, can contribute to save our precious world.


Participants of ige2005 will be exposed to the above issues throughout the programme. These issues will be thoroughly discussed in the Youth Forum chaired by HRH The Earl of Wessex.
